Visualize Ergonomics Risk with 3D Human Biomechanics
An accurate 3 dimensional human mesh is core to multiple applications including risk estimation of MSDs (Musculoskeletal Disorders). To understand human biomechanics, estimation of posture with angles at the joints is a key component. This provides a 360 degree view of ergonomics hazards present in the work.
In this context, sensor and multi-camera based techniques had an advantage on accuracy. However, they face scalability limitations due to higher cost and other constraints.
With ErgoEdge, we have tried addressing many of the above constraints:
- Keeping input data devices as regular smartphone / cctv camera
- Accurate estimation and display of 3D mesh visualization for each posture
We believe this will help Ergonomist, Occupational health specialist, and other professionals in better modeling and simulations to avoid injuries.
Without a full view from different angles, it is difficult to estimate shoulder flexion and extension. Bending position of the operator or trunk twisting also need multiple viewing angles for better estimation.
ErgoEdge is only vision based industrial ergonomics tool to provide a 3D simulation of each frame.
